COVID-19 RELIEF FUND TO HELP CONGREGATION MEMBERS IN NEED

The English Congregations COVID-19 Relief Fund is a temporary fund created to specifically help to meet the needs of individuals and families in the English congregation at the Reformed Church of Newtown who are experiencing significant financial difficulty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to raise funds through donations of our congregation members while reaching out to our congregation to identify those in need. The fund will remain open for donation and distribution from June 14, 2020 through August 14, 2020 and will be managed by the English deacons.

How to donate:

INTERESTED IN A MONTHLY BOOK CLUB ABOUT RACISM, JUSTICE, MERCY and THE CHURCH?

One of the best ways that we can respond to cries of systematic racism, and change is to listen well and seek to learn.  There are a wealth of books that speak about racism and how Christians can respond, and if you are interested in reading a book together and discussing monthly (via Zoom) with Pastor Chris, please indicate interest here

Talking to your Kids about Racism:

Here is a good article from Christianity Today about talking to your kids about racism.  Also, this New York Times article gives great book recommendations about talking to your kids about racism, including a book by a former youth group student of mine, Carolyn Heisel!
