Consistory Election: Elders and Deacons nominations start today and ends on Oct. 13, 3pm. You can begin to make nominations online with the QR code or by paper in the foyer. Nominees must be an active member and the active member list is posted in the Fellowship Hall. Please see the election bylaw for qualifications. The completed paper ballots should be placed in the mailbox in the Fellowship Hall.
Service Time Change: Starting Oct. 6th we will begin our worship service at 1:30pm as part of a church-wide change to help youth from the Mandarin congregation access English-language worship. We encourage everyone to come at 1:20pm to pray with the worship team for a successful launch to this new service time.
Community Event: Church-wide Apple Picking on Saturday, Oct 19th, to Stuarts Farm. We are looking for drivers who can also help drive the YCG to the farm. If you’re interested, please let one of the YCG leaders know and meet at church at 9:15am!
Baptism Class: Baptism, transfer, and confirmation classes will start in mid-October. We will discuss the deep theological truths that form the foundation of our faith, as well as what it means to be a member of Newtown. If you are not a member of this church but think God might be calling you to join, this class gives you the info you need to make that decision. If that is you, contact pastor Ryan, Ryan@newtown.church or find him after worship.
Our post-service snack ministry sponsored by the small groups and family groups will resume in October. We are forming a hospitality committee and looking for 3-5 volunteers to help grow our church’s fellowship time! If you are interested, please speak to Dennis or Danielle.
Children’s Sunday School resumed on August 4. We are looking for more teachers and helpers for the coming semester. Please contact David Ko or any of the deacons if interested.
