  1. Baptism, transfer, and confirmation classes will start in mid-October. We will discuss the deep theological truths that form the foundation of our faith, as well as what it means to be a member of Newtown, so that you can make an informed decision whether to become a member. This class is designed for the following: people who have not publicly declared that they are Christians but want to explore giving their lives to Jesus, Christians who coming from other churches who find a spiritual home at Newtown and want to formally join our community, and people who believe in Jesus but have never joined a church and would like to join Newtown. If this describes you, contact Pastor Ryan at Ryan@newtown.church.

  2. Our post-service snack ministry sponsored by the small groups and family groups will resume in October. We are forming a hospitality committee and looking for 3-5 volunteers to help grow our church’s fellowship time! If you are interested, please speak to Dennis or Danielle.

  3. The Newtown Young Adult Group is hosting their monthly social at Fellowship Hall today at 4pm. Everyone is invited to stay for movie night and join them in watching 18x2 Beyond Youthful Days. See you there!

  4. Nomination period for deacons and elders starts 9/29 and ends 10/13. To make a nomination, please talk to one of the current deacons. The in-person election is scheduled for the congregational meeting on 11/17.

  5. Concurrent with the 11/17 election, we will also hold a formal vote to leave Queens classis and join the Classis de las Naciones, thus remaining in our denomination but changing the network of churches to which we belong. The decision to affiliate with Classis de las Naciones is the fruit of over a year of discernment and prayer so we hope that, by the time we vote, we can approve the transfer unanimously. For more info on Classis de las Naciones, check out their website, https://www.classisdelasnaciones.org/.

  6. Children’s Sunday School is looking for more teachers and assistants for the coming semester.  Please contact David Ko or any of the deacons if interested in helping with this ministry.

  7. Please pray for our church’s search for a children’s Sunday school director.

  8. Beginning on 10/6 the English worship service will start at 1:30pm instead of 1:00pm in order to encourage more young people from our Mandarin congregation to join us.

  9. Please continue to support the various ministries at church by tithing online at the link below or utilizing the tithing box outside of the sanctuary center doors.
