ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our town hall meeting will be held today, Sunday, Oct. 17th immediately following Sunday service. Please join us for ministry updates including pastor search and consistory nomination/voting updates. You can email questions before the town hall to english.deacons@newtown.church up until the start of the meeting.
Youth and College Group (YCG) is in need of drivers for a hike on Saturday, Oct. 30th. Please contact Simone at simone@newtown.church if you’re willing and able to help with driving. (Of course, you are invited to the hike, too, as a driver!)
We are planning to open up our gates to the community after church on Sunday, Oct. 31st by hosting a “Trunk-or-Treat” event in the parking lots. Hoping to create an edifying alternative to traditional Halloween practices. Looking for volunteers to help set up booths and games or donate items to give away. If interested please contact english.deacons@newtown.church.
Pastor Johnson Huang’s ordination and installation will take place on Nov. 7th starting at 4PM. The service will be live-streamed, but all are welcome to attend in-person. Details will follow.
Consistory Elections: The Elder and Deacon candidate list will be announced next Sunday, Oct. 24th.
Due to the possibility of our church being unable to meet together for a one-day election, our consistory election will be run as a combination of mail ballot and drop-off ballot at the church over TWO weeks from Nov. 7th to Nov. 21st, 2021.
Therefore, if any English congregation members will be unable to drop-off a ballot at the church between the above dates, please click on this link to request a mail-in ballot

6. Next Sunday, 10/24, we will have a missions spotlight on Glennis Shih, a missionary Newtown supports. Glennis is entering year 15 being on staff of Epic Movement, the Asisan American ministry arm of Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ). She currently serves on the People & Culture team as a People Services Coordinator to provide care for Epic’s staff and is also involved in the field as an on-campus staff member at Queens College to mentor, train and encourage students and faculty.
7. Please continue to support the various ministries at church by tithing online at newtown.church/donate or by using the large tithing box outside of the sanctuary center doors.
