We are collecting gifts for the nursing home residents at the Rego Park Health Care Center. Consider donating wrapped and labeled women’s or men’s gifts, such as t- shirts, games, adult coloring books with markers, lotions, chapsticks, or blankets. Please, NO food, socks or sharp objects. Reach out to Wendy Kwan for more information. Gifts are collected today, 12/17, or latest on 12/24 . A small group will be caroling at the nursing home on Christmas morning. Please Let Wendy know if interested.
Come join us for the Christmas Candlelight Service on Sunday, 12/24, from 4pm-5pm. Refreshments to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
There will be a 2-week short-term missions opportunity to Kaoshiong, Taiwan in July 2024.
Who are we looking for?
- spiritually mature Christians with teachable spirits and humility
- strong heart to share the gospel
- seeking to get out of your comfort zone
- 16 years old and up
- Mandarin speakers welcomed
Who is leading?
Elder Nadia Shyr from the Taiwanese congregation.
When?
Around July for 2 weeks. Waiting on the school program to be available early 2024.
What will I be doing?
- teaching English
- street evangelism
- fellowship
- praying for others
- bible study and more...
Why?
There's a need for English teachers for Bible study. And many young seekers eager to hear the Good News.
How will I prepare?
- training will be provided in the months ahead, mostly online such as Zoom
- some in-person training upon arrival
- fund raise with team and independently
- having a currently active passport
- TBD with team leader(s)/ members
How much?
Depends on the airline prices and city. Upon arrival, there will be transportation, boarding and some meals provided for a cost.
